At this we recognise staff who have worked loyally for the organisation for a high number of years. This year our AGM was done virtually with no way of recognising staff. What better way to do it than buy cakes, supply tea/coffee and present staff with their certificates and reward (All done safely). Lots of chat about the “old days” and a few funny stories were told about characters past and present! Chief Executive David Cusack said: “This event shows staff that we recognise their loyalty and dedication and this small gesture is our way of saying thank you”.... These come into effect TOMORROW: Wednesday, 14 October. The city has been placed in the ‘alert level 2’ due to infection rates above 100 per 100,000 people. This means households will not be able to meet indoors (except with support bubbles) – including indoor hospitality, leisure and retail. This is in addition to the national ‘rule of six’ and the local ban on meeting other households in private homes – though the rule of six will now apply to private gardens. Council Leader, Cllr Ian Ward, said: “This represents a huge challenge for us all in Birmingham and it is now more important than ever that we follow the guidance to get the COVID rate back down across the city. We all have a role to play if we’re going to protect our families, friends and neighbours and ensure that the NHS is not overwhelmed. “We will continue to work closely with our partners and will work with every community and every neighbourhood to communicate vital public health messages to help keep people safe.” Here’s some extra detail on the new restrictions in Birmingham: · Weddings are permitted to have no more than 15 attendees with the same for receptions. · Funerals can only have 30 attendees, with a maximum of 15 at wakes and commemorations. · You can only play team sports where they are officially organised by a club or organisation. · People are advised to minimise the number of journeys they make. · While you can still go on holiday, it can only be with people you live with, or your support bubble. St. Paul’s will continue to enforce all of the Government guidelines on all of our sites and ask all members of the public and other visitors to comply with the guidelines. Thank You Dave Cusack Chief Executive ... Read more...Sparkbrook Covid-19 Testing Site18/09/2020A walk-in Covid-19 testing site is currently being setup in Alfred Road car park in Sparkbrook. Charlotte and Kathi come from Ludwigsburg (near Stuttgart) and the Northern Black Forest and are here as part of their respective degree programmes working with children, young people and families. Their German university have a partnership with Newman University in Birmingham who have worked with St. Paul’s for a number of years. Asked why they chose St. Paul’s for their placement they both said that St. Paul’s work in Balsall Heath was ”very complimentary to their studies and they felt St. Paul’s could offer them a learning experience that was holistic and would enable them long term to work in a range of organisations that deliver children and families services”. Chief Executive David Cusack said “We are delighted to host Charlotte and Kathi at St. Paul’s and to offer them a high-quality learning experience while they are with us. I am pleased they chose us and these placements strengthens our relationship with Newman University”....
